Requirements by Operation Type

Private flights require permits. AOC not required for private aircraft. Radio License required.

All non-scheduled flights require prior permit. 48 working hours lead time for landing permits.

Scheduled services governed by bilateral agreements.

Overflight Permit

  • Validity: 72 hours from initial requested schedule

Remarks:

AFTN must be included in flight plan. Signatory to Chicago Convention.

Application Process:

Submit application to ZCAA Air Transport Department at least 24-48 working hours prior with flight schedule, entry/exit points, and ATS routing.

Landing Permit

  • Required: Yes
  • Authority: ZCAA - Air Transport Department
  • Lead Time: 48 working hours before departure
  • Validity: 72 hours from initial requested schedule
  • Fees: Landing and parking fees apply
Remarks:

Mandatory for all operations: private, charter, scheduled, non-scheduled, passenger, and cargo.

Application Process:

Submit application with crew details and passport copies, aircraft documents (AOC, COA, COI, COR, CON, Radio License). Private aircraft do not require AOC.

Cabotage

Prohibited for foreign operators
