Requirements by Operation Type
Private flights require permits. AOC not required for private aircraft.
All non-scheduled flights require prior permits.
Scheduled services governed by bilateral agreements.
Overflight Permit
- Required: Yes
- Authority: UCAA - Air Transport Department
- Lead Time: 24-48 working hours before departure
- Validity: 72 hours from initial requested schedule
- Fees: No CAA processing fees; navigation charges apply
Only overfly permit is necessary (no separate landing permit for overflights). AFTN must be included in flight plan.
Submit application to UCAA Air Transport Department at least 24 working hours prior with aircraft registration, route, purpose, and operator contact information.
Landing Permit
- Required: Yes
- Authority: UCAA - Air Transport Department
- Lead Time: 48 working hours before departure
- Validity: 72 hours from initial requested schedule
- Fees: Landing and parking fees apply
All foreign-registered aircraft require landing clearance. Full documentation required.
Submit application with flight schedule, entry/exit points, crew/passenger details, and aircraft documents (AOC, COA, COI, CON, COR).
Cabotage
Prohibited for foreign operators
General Remarks
UCAA operates 24 hours a day. Signatory to Chicago Convention. AFTN required in flight plan. Strict ICAO compliance for dangerous goods transport.
