Requirements by Operation Type

Overflight Permit

Remarks:

Iran requires routings and FIR information with permit requests. Permits issued only through agents with pre-established accounts and deposits. U.S. sanctions significantly affect processing for U.S.-registered aircraft and U.S. nationals.

Application Process:

Apply through an authorized local agent or approved third-party provider with a pre-funded deposit account at CAO. Submit flight routing, FIR entry/exit points, aircraft details, and operator information. Permit number must appear in Item 18 of the flight plan.

Landing Permit

Remarks:

All foreign aircraft require landing permits regardless of purpose. Must have authorized agent in Iran or pre-funded account.

Application Process:

Submit through authorized agent with deposit account. Provide full flight schedule, crew list, passenger manifest, cargo details, aircraft documents, insurance certificates, and routing information.
