Requirements by Operation Type
Private flights require permits. Full passenger passport details required for landing permits.
All non-scheduled flights require individual permits at USD 150 each. Pre-payment required since April 2022.
Scheduled services governed by bilateral agreements. Block and seasonal permits available.
Overflight Permit

- Validity: 72 hours from initial requested schedule
- Fees: USD 150 per single overflight permit; navigation charges apply separately
All non-scheduled/non-exempt airlines must pay overflight, landing, and permit fees before operating in Accra FIR.
Submit application via GCAA portal at https://portal.caa.com.gh. Mandatory documents: AOC, COA, COI, COR, Noise Certificate.
Landing Permit
- Required: Yes
- Authority: GCAA
- Lead Time: 72 hours prior to date of intended flight
- Validity: 72 hours from initial requested schedule
- Fees: USD 150 per single landing permit; landing and parking fees apply separately
Passport details of all persons on board (crew and passengers) required. Landing request will not be processed without passenger details.
Submit via GCAA online portal with complete passenger passport details, flight schedule, and all mandatory aircraft documentation.
Cabotage
Prohibited for foreign operators
General Remarks
Pre-payment of permit and navigation fees mandatory since April 2022 for non-scheduled/non-exempt operators. Online portal system. Monthly and seasonal block permits available for regular operators.
