Requirements by Operation Type

Private flights require permits. AOC not required for private aircraft.

Prior notification required at least 1 working day before landing. Full documentation required.

Scheduled services governed by bilateral agreements.

Overflight Permit

  • Lead Time: 48 working hours before departure; 1 working day minimum for non-scheduled
  • Validity: 72 hours from initial requested schedule
  • Fees: No CAA processing fees; route navigation facility charges apply
Remarks:

Online application available via SIGA system at siga.aac.cv. ICAO flight plan format required per PANS/RAC DOC.4444.

Application Process:

Submit application via SIGA online system or to AAC Air Transport Department with aircraft registration, route, purpose, and entry/exit times.

Landing Permit

  • Required: Yes
  • Authority: AAC - Civil Aviation Agency
  • Lead Time: 1 working day before intended landing for non-scheduled flights
  • Validity: 72 hours from initial requested schedule
  • Fees: Landing and parking fees apply; airport slot required
Remarks:

Landing permit and airport parking slot mandatory. Tech stops via Sal Island also require permit.

Application Process:

Submit notification to AAC at least 1 working day before landing with all required flight and aircraft details.

Cabotage

Prohibited for foreign operators

General Remarks

AAC operates 0900Z to 1730Z. Online permit system (SIGA) available. Flight plan must be submitted 30 minutes before expected departure.
