Runway Threshold
Runway Threshold is the beginning of that portion of the runway usable for landing. The threshold is marked with white stripes perpendicular to the runway centerline. The number of stripes indicates the runway width.
A displaced threshold is moved from the physical beginning of the pavement — the area before it can be used for takeoff and rollout but not for landing. Threshold elevation is published in airport charts and is the reference for DH (Decision Height) calculations.
