Missed Approach Point

MAP (Missed Approach Point) is the point in an instrument approach procedure at or before which the prescribed missed approach procedure must be initiated if the required visual reference to continue the approach has not been established.

For precision approaches, the MAP is at the Decision Altitude/Height. For non-precision approaches, it may be defined by a fix, a navaid, or a specific time from the Final Approach Fix.
