Class C Airspace

Class C Airspace surrounds airports with moderate traffic levels and operational control towers. Both IFR and VFR flights require two-way radio contact with ATC. IFR aircraft receive separation from all traffic; VFR aircraft receive traffic advisories.

Class C typically extends from the surface to 4,000 ft AGL with a 5 nm inner ring and a 10 nm outer ring. A transponder with Mode C is required.
