AFIS

AFIS (Aerodrome Flight Information Service) provides flight information and alerting services at aerodromes that do not have a full air traffic control tower. AFIS operators give pilots information about traffic, weather, and runway conditions, but do not issue clearances or instructions.

Pilots at AFIS aerodromes are responsible for their own separation from other traffic. AFIS is common at regional and smaller airports across Europe and other regions.
