1967

Aeropuerto Internacional Arturo Merino Benítez opened in 1967 in Pudahuel, replacing the downtown Los Cerrillos airport. It was named after the founder of the Chilean Air Force.

2010s
2015

Groupe ADP and VINCI won the concession to build a completely new terminal, designed by a Franco-Chilean team, to replace the aging facilities and expand to 30 million passengers.

2020s
2022

The new international terminal opened in late 2022, featuring a modern design inspired by the Andes mountains with sweeping roof curves and abundant natural light.
