Cape Town Intl
A Journey Through Time
1954 — 2019
Cape Town International Airport (D.F. Malan Airport) opened in 1954, replacing the Wingfield military airfield. Its location at the base of Table Mountain gives it one of the most scenic approaches in the world.
A new Central Terminal Building and domestic terminal opened in 2010 for the FIFA World Cup, tripling capacity and featuring a design inspired by the Fynbos vegetation of the Western Cape.
Cape Town was named Africa's Best Airport by Skytrax for six consecutive years, praised for its efficient operations, scenic setting, and passenger experience.
