1960s
1962

Stockholm Arlanda Airport opened on 1 April 1962, located 42 km north of Stockholm in the Uppland countryside. It was Sweden's first purpose-built jet-age airport.

1990s
1999

The Arlanda Express high-speed rail link opened in 1999, connecting the airport to Stockholm Central Station in just 20 minutes at speeds up to 200 km/h.

2000s
2003

Terminal 5 was expanded for SAS Star Alliance operations, and Arlanda became a leader in sustainable aviation with Sweden's first biofuel-powered airport vehicle fleet.
