1931
Vancouver Airport opened in 1931 on Sea Island in the Fraser River delta. Its first scheduled service was a United Air Transport flight to Seattle.

1996
The International Terminal underwent a stunning expansion featuring Pacific Northwest indigenous art, including a monumental jade canoe sculpture by Haida artist Bill Reid.
2000s
2009
The Canada Line rapid transit connection opened in 2009, linking YVR to downtown Vancouver in 25 minutes — completed ahead of the 2010 Winter Olympics.
